The invention discloses a method for casting titanium and titanium alloy. The method comprises the following steps: placing a pure titanium or titanium alloy raw material into a cold crucible; communicating an upper furnace chamber and a lower furnace chamber by a lift pipe; vacuumizing the cold crucible; preheating a casting shell at a temperature of between 200 and 1,000 DEG C, preheating the lift pipe at a temperature of between 500 and 1,000 DEG C, and preheating the pure titanium or titanium alloy raw material to a temperature of between 500 and 1,000 DEG C; vacuumizing the cold crucible from a vacuum valve of the lower furnace chamber, and introducing argon into the cold crucible; starting cold crucible levitation melting on the pure titanium or titanium alloy raw material, maintaining the degree of superheat of the pure titanium or titanium alloy raw material at a temperature of between 100 and 400 DEG C after melting; quickly vacuumizing the cold crucible to lead pure titanium or titanium alloy solution to enter the casting shell when the cold crucible is lifted until the lift pipe is immersed in the alloy liquid level; maintaining the pressure until the cast is molded; closing vacuum, and reducing the cold crucible until the pure titanium or titanium alloy solution is separated from the lift pipe; and opening the casting shell when the temperature of the casting shell is reduced to 20 to 400 DEG C, and taking the cast out. The cast prepared by the method has good mold-filling capacity, non cast deficiency and high cast quality.
