The present invention generally relates to a field including metal oxide nanotubes, bipolar plates, and fuel cells. In particularly, the present invention relates to nanotubes, bipolar plates and a method for manufacturing the same. One embodiment of the invention includes an assembly of metal oxide comprising valve metal oxide nanotubes. Another embodiment of the invention is bipolar plates including a plurality of channels configured for fluid pass. The bipolar plate comprises valve metal plates having valve metal oxide nanotubes assembly disposed on at least part of the surface of said valve metal plate. The metal oxide nanotubes assembly also provides improved water management besides noncorrosibility and electroconductibility.
