Provided is a small electromagnetic relay. In an axis center hole (32a) of a solenoid formed by winding a coil (35), a movable iron core (61) of a movable contact block (60) vertically reciprocates, and contacts are opened and closed by permitting movable contacts (55a, 56a), which integrally reciprocate with the movable iron core (61), to make contact with or separate from fixed contacts (65, 66). Furthermore, in a magnetic field of two permanent magnets (53, 54) arranged on the sides of the fixed contacts (65, 66) and the movable contacts (55a, 56a), which make contact with or separated from each other, arc generated upon opening/closing of the contacts is permitted to flow in a prescribed direction.On the both sides of the arc flow, coil terminals (81, 82) connected with an extraction line of the coil (35) are arranged, respectively.
