The invention relates to a connector (1) for piping, in particular plastic piping, that consists of a housing part (2) with a plug receptacle (4) for a fluid seal (8) for fluid-sealed insertion of a pipe-shaped insertion piece and of at least one retaining element (6) to clamp the insertion piece, wherein the housing part (2) consists of two parts, a receptacle part (16) for the retaining element (6) and the fluid seal (8), as well as a connecting part (14) for connecting the housing part (2) to an assembly. The housing part can be sealed in relation to the assembly. In order to achieve a simplified seal for a multi-part connector (1) of this kind, it is recommended that the housing part (2) is subdivided in such a way that the receptacle part (16) can be directly sealed in relation to the assembly.
