The invention relates to a clamping and/or braking device, in particular a pneumatically actuatable clamping and/or braking device, comprising a housing, which encloses a space in which a hydraulic medium that is configured as a solid body is accommodated, the space for accommodating the hydraulic medium being, on the one hand, delimited by a wall of the housing and, on the other hand, by a clamping and/or braking device, and at least one actuating element which acts upon the hydraulic medium in order to produce a clamping and/or braking force that can be transferred from the clamping and/or braking device to the impinging element. According to the invention, at least one actuating element is configured as a pin or a spike. The actuating element is embodied in such a manner that it can be displaced along a predetermined spatial curve and it acts upon the hydraulic medium through an aperture in the wall of the housing, which delimits the space for accommodating the hydraulic medium.
