The invention relates to a method of adjusting chromatic dispersion compensation accurately in a wavelength division multiplex optical transmission system. The OUT unit of sending end encodes the digital electrical signal needed to transfer to the circuit in FEC. After WDM circuit transmission, FEC decoder chip in the OUT unit of receiving end decodes the received digital signal in FEC. The decoder chip takes real-time statistics for wrong code words to confirm the quantity of 0 error check and 1 error check in the current short time slice. The invention has the advantages that the TDC devicein front of the OUT unit of receiving end compensates the chromatic dispersion in circuit transmission; the FEC decoder chip sends the error check quantity back to TDC; the CPU of TDC enables dynamiccontrol to the quantity of circuit chromatic dispersion compensation according to the statistic information of bit error check.
