The invention relates to a brake cylinder (1) having a parking brake function, especially for utility vehicles. Said brake cylinder comprises a cylinder housing (2), a piston (3), and a piston tube (4) for actuating a brake. A fixed threaded bolt (6) which protrudes into the piston tube (4) and is fixed to the cylinder housing (4) with the upper end thereof is used to carry out the parking brake function. A clamping nut (7), that can be displaced by means of a forked, axially rotatably driving element (8) that engages in the clamping nut (7), extends over the threaded bolt (6). Said driving element (8) is provided with a drive (9, 10). For the parking brake function, the driving element (8) is rotated with the clamping nut (7) while the cylinder is subjected to pressure by the parking brake, until the clamping nut (7) is supported against the piston in the parking position of the piston (3), and mechanically locks the same when the cylinder housing (2) is not subjected to pressure.
