The invention relates to a street electric map self-service terminal and a relative method, wherein the device comprises a GPS transmitter for interacting the map information refresh with a spatial geography information platform, an infrared transmitter for transmitting data to a user terminal with an infrared transmitting device, a map memory card for storing the map information read by the GPS transmitter, and a controller for controlling the electric map memory card to refresh electric map and user download. And the method comprises a refresh module of electric map and an electric map user download module, while the electric map refresh module uses the GPS transmitter to receive the map data of the spatial geography information platform to be downloaded into the electric map memory card, and the electric map user download module via the infrared transmitter sends map data to the user terminal. The invention combined with spatial geography information platform can on time refresh electric map and use standard protocol, only with the terminal device with infrared receiving function, to obtain the service of electric map.
