The present invention relates to a digital television device and the method with compatible multiple channels. The device divides the digital television receiving module and the television main machine, an interface module is utilized to connect the digital television receiving module and the television main machine, and the standard transmission stream and communication protocol output by the digital television module are transmitted to the television main machine through the interface module. When the channel is changed, the television main machine can recognize the channel transmission method of the digital television according to the communication protocol, thereby, the user only needs to replace the receiving module instead of changing the whole digital device when the channel is changed, unnecessary cost is decreased, and the replacement is convenient.
